Jeffrey Preston Bezos, born Jeffrey Preston Jorgensen on January 12, 1964, is an American entrepreneur, media proprietor, investor, and computer engineer. He is best known as the founder, chairman, and former CEO of Amazon, the world’s largest online retailer and a prominent cloud computing provider.

Bezos’s early life demonstrated a keen interest in technology and a strong entrepreneurial spirit. He graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University with degrees in electrical engineering and computer science. After graduation, he worked in various roles in the financial industry, including at hedge fund D.E. Shaw & Co.
