Connor Clifton is a professional ice hockey defenseman currently playing for the Buffalo Sabres in the National Hockey League (NHL). Born on April 28, 1995, in Matawan, New Jersey, Clifton’s hockey journey began in the youth ranks. He honed his skills playing for various amateur teams before committing to Quinnipiac University. During his time with the Quinnipiac Bobcats, he established himself as a dependable defenseman, demonstrating a strong defensive game and a willingness to sacrifice his body. He played three seasons for the Bobcats, earning All-ECAC Hockey honors.

Undrafted, Clifton signed an entry-level contract with the Arizona Coyotes in 2017. However, he was quickly traded to the Boston Bruins organization. He spent the majority of his early professional career with the Providence Bruins, Boston’s American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, refining his skills and developing into a more complete player.
