Summer (May – September): Scorching Heat

Outdoor activities are best undertaken early in the morning or late in the evening. Humidity is still present but is generally less intense than during the summer months. These periods are ideal for outdoor activities, such as exploring the city, visiting beaches, and enjoying desert safaris.

Evenings can be pleasantly cool, especially in the desert, so a light jacket or sweater may be useful. Rainfall remains infrequent, but there is a slightly higher chance of precipitation compared to the summer.

Winter (December – February): Mild and Sunny

Winter in Dubai is the most pleasant time to visit, with mild and sunny conditions. Daytime temperatures typically range from 20°C to 25°C (around 70-77°F). Evenings can be cooler, dropping to around 15°C (59°F), so warmer clothing is recommended.

This is the peak tourist season, and the city comes alive with outdoor events and activities. Swimming in the sea is comfortable, and it’s an excellent time for desert excursions, golf, and other outdoor pursuits. Rainfall is still relatively low, but occasional showers can occur.

Rainfall

Dubai is located in an arid region and receives very little rainfall throughout the year. The average annual rainfall is less than 100 mm (4 inches). Most of the rain falls during the winter months, with occasional showers occurring in the shoulder seasons. Heavy downpours are rare but can sometimes lead to flash flooding.
