Chase Priskie: A Hockey Journey

Chase Priskie, born March 16, 1996, is an American professional ice hockey defenseman currently playing for the Iowa Wild in the American Hockey League (AHL). His career, though still developing, showcases a blend of offensive skill, defensive responsibility, and leadership qualities.

Priskie’s hockey journey began in the junior ranks, notably with the USHL’s Youngstown Phantoms. His time with the Phantoms highlighted his burgeoning offensive capabilities from the blue line. Priskie’s professional career has primarily been spent in the AHL. He has played for various AHL affiliates, including the Charlotte Checkers (Hurricanes), the Chicago Wolves (Hurricanes/Golden Knights), and now the Iowa Wild (Wild affiliate). He’s consistently demonstrated his ability to contribute offensively and maintain a responsible defensive presence. He earned a brief stint in the NHL with the Hurricanes during the 2019-20 season, playing in two games. He was traded to the Buffalo Sabres organization in 2021 and subsequently claimed off waivers by the Anaheim Ducks before eventually finding his way to the Minnesota Wild organization.
